REVIEWS:
Faith In You received excellent reviews from the press as well as airplay in Canada the US, Europe and Australia. Our thanks to BRFM Radio (UK) Awesomeradio (Australia) WMIR 100.9 (US) Aiiradio.net (UK) and American public radio stations WAMC 90.1 and WSKG 91.7 for their support.
Legendary recording artist, Gordon Lightfoot, had this to say about Faith In You:
"A passionate album by a wonderful songwriter."
In New York, The Daily Freeman writes:
“In ‘You’re The One’, (LaCroix) simply soars on the chorus, where the heartfelt verse sets it up perfectly …The expansive, almost epic “Stay” holds another breathtaking vocal delivery by LaCroix, as (guitarist, Marc) Daine’s fancy fretwork brings it home… With an uncanny ability to find the heart of a song, LaCroix is really onto something. Keep an eye on this one.”

The Performing Songwriter Magazine in Nashville says:
"First impressions are lasting impressions. That being the case, Dana LaCroix has nothing to fear.” - Neil Fagan - Reviewer

Dana has received glowing reviews from the Danish press for her shows as well as her recodings. She has performed all across the country, from Bornholms Musikhus to Portalen in Greve and Huset in Aalborg.
“After two songs, the beautiful Canadian…had the whole room in the palm of her hand with her unique, irresistible charm. The best concert of the season.” - Roskilde Amts Avis – Denmark
“Dana’s voice is one of the most beautiful I’ve heard in a long time. Sultry and pure with just a touch of throaty rust…” - Fredericia Dagblad
“There is power and sincerity in (her) songs…Her musicality and charismatic stage presence were soul-stirring…” - Bornholms Tidende
Have you seen the Danish movie Fear X, starring John Turturro? If you do, you’ll catch a couple of Dana’s songs, which are featured on the soundtrack alongside the music of Brian Eno.
Dana’s music has resulted in a chart topper for ‘Arabpop’ Dutch singer, Hind. “In the Distance”, co-written with Spanish producer, Yadam, was featured on Hind’s 2005 hit record Halfway Home. BIOGRAPHY
Three albums, songwriting credits for a recent John Turturro film and touring activities covering Canada, Europe and the US have brought Dana LaCroix recognition as one of today’s most promising singer/songwriters. A popular concert headliner known for her on-stage charisma, LaCroix is currently laying plans for spring tour dates in Europe with her New York City-based band.
With her brand new EP, Faith In You, LaCroix brings new aspects of her vocal and songwriting talent to light. A departure from her debut Cd, the country and blues-tinged, Pride, Faith in You bespeaks a stylistic versatility that stretches from poignant acoustic ballads to driving, bass-heavy pop tunes, a la Bonnie Raitt.
"I always wanted to play music that was both introspective and entertaining. The songs seem to come out sounding like stories, which I guess comes from my background in grassroots folk, but I like working with the full band and seeing where the instrumentation takes them,” says LaCroix.
The result is a refreshing sound that goes far beyond grassroots. With soaring guitar arrangements, lush back-ground vocals and even the occasional world-beat groove, the band creates a vivid backdrop for LaCroix's sultry voice and evocative lyrics.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dana LaCroix was weaned on the music
of folk legends such as Leadbelly, Woody and Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger. Her father, a former singer who performed with Canadian vocal group, The Halifax Three, (which included the recently deceased Denny Doherty, lead singer of the Mamas and the Papas), was her earliest musical influence. One of Dana’s first experiences with 3-part harmony was listening to the different voices on her Dad’s old LPs and trying to guess which voice was his.
After spending several years working the Canadian circuit, LaCroix relocated to New York City, where she put her versatility to work as a side-musician, honing her skills as a performer and multi-instrumentalist. During her early years in New York, Dana had the opportunity to open shows for many of her idols, including Johnnie Johnson, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, Blues Traveler, The Spin Doctors and Zydeco superstar, C.J.Chenier.
Since the release of Pride, Dana has begun forging a name for herself as a singer songwriter of note. The Performing Songwriter Magazine chose Pride as a Top Ten release and in Europe the press has been equally enthusiastic, covering her concert appearances with consistently glowing reviews. Sought-after for her songs as well as for her live performances, Dana has delivered material to artists and feature films in Canada, the US and Europe, including BMG Holland recording artist, Hind, and European film director, Nicolas Winding Refn, who featured two songs from Pride in his mystery thriller, 'Fear X', starring John Turturro.
